Wolverine is indubitably one of the foundations of the Marvel empire. Not quite a hero, not quite a villain, Wolverine has a past that is stained with blood. Tragically, most comix with Wolverine prefer simply to reference this sordid past, and instead focus on his enfatuation with Jean or Ororo, reducing the meat-mincing machine into a ackward loverboy.

The works displayed here are my personal favorites, either because of the amazing artwork, or because of the importance of the storyline to the Wolverine’s character.

Why you should care: Uncensored Wovlie, raw and uncut, tearing it up with his pigstickers. These comix are action packed, explore Wolverines more formative years, and showcase some of Marvel’s best illustrators.
